Former glamour model Sam went to see a Harley Street specialist after suffering problems with her singing voice.
Difficult times: Sam Fox, 56, has revealed she’s suffered a cancer scare, after discovering a lump in her throat that has prompted her to urgently seek medical attention
She told The Sun: ‘When I saw the growth on the screen, I thought, “Oh God, that’s not normal.”
‘It looked very big. You think about throat cancer straight away.
‘The doctor said, “We have to get that out as soon as possible. It might be nothing, but it might not be.”‘

She added that she was in shock and both she and her fiancée Linda Olsen, 48, broke down into tears as they feared the worst.
Sam, who is due to marry Linda next week, has suffered heartache in the past after her mother had Carole Ann, and her long-term partner Myra Stratton died from the disease in 2015.
The star recalled how the doctor told her the growth was in a ‘precarious position’ and said scarring is possible even if it turns out to be benign.
Sam said she often performs for the soldiers of the British Royal Forces and she would hate to have to give up the shows if her vocal cords are affected.
Musician Sam is due to marry fiancée Linda next week and last May, Samantha told OK! magazine that after postponing their initial wedding due to the Covid pandemic, they planned to wait so their loved ones can attend from around the world.
During the interview, Sam revealed her ‘great mate’ Motörhead lead singer Lemmy – who died in 2015 – had offered to step in and walk her down the aisle after her father died.
Sam’s father Patrick, who managed her career until 1991, died in 2000.
Asked if she plans to invite any celebrity friends, Sam said: ‘A few I’ve known a long time. I want to invite the people who got me where I am today.
‘I know a lot of celebrities but they’re not my real friends, but there’s a few coming.’
Samantha and Linda announced their engagement in March 2020, four years after Samantha lost her long term girlfriend of 12 years, Myra Stratton, to cancer.
Myra died in 2015, and the following year Samantha began dating Linda, saying she was in a ‘really good place’.
