School bus collides with a truck and flips off a motorway near Melbourne – with DOZENS of schoolgirls rushed to hospital

 A school bus carrying more 27 schoolgirls has collided with a truck along the Western Highway in Victoria.

The bus collided with the truck at 3.15am at Bacchus Marsh, near the intersection of Condons Lane, about an hour away from Melbourne.

One teenage girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. 

The male truck driver is also seriously injured and has been taken to hospital.

The other students, four adults onboard, and the bus driver, have been taken to hospital for observation. 

Harrowing images show dozens of schoolbags strewn across the scene of the accident. 

All Melbourne-bound lanes on the Western Highway are expected to remain closed for several hours. 

Parents are being asked to call Ballarat Police Station on 5336 6000, and not attend the scene of the crash
