Former sex addict Belinda ‘Love’ Rygier, who bedded 700 men at the height of her compulsive spiral has revealed the reason behind her addiction. 

The star, 40, appeared on Studio 10 on Thursday to discuss the reasons behind her actions and said a lot of it had to do with her complicated childhood. 

‘For me, I believe it really stems from your attachment style from childhood,’ Belinda said on the program.

‘If you have an insecure relationship with your family. I was bullied in high school for being overweight,’ she added.

‘I had no real secure friends, I always wanted to fit in. In fact, I think a part of me went on The Bachelor to get that validation. To be seen, to be loved.’

The star finished by saying that she believed her insecurities and sex addiction stemmed from her ‘imprint phases’ growing up, and how they shape our psyche.

Belinda has been open about how her compulsive behaviour led to her bedding more than 700 men. 

The star said she didn’t even realise she had a ‘sex addiction’ until she healed it. 

‘I stepped back and realised there was something I needed to transform,’ she said.

‘So I started doing the inner work, I started looking at what is the driving force for this,’ she added. 

Belinda said once she looked back and healed the trauma that was when she realised she had a sex addiction. 

Belinda now runs relationship bootcamps in order to help others heal themselves.
