Shane Richie’s wild past has resurfaced ahead of his stint on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

The actor, 56, has recalled a drug-fuelled orgy he had with six women while working at a holiday camp in his teens.

‘One week in July a group of six girls came down from Chelmsford they called themselves the Sexy Six and they were all blonde.

‘They invited me to a club. I said I’d bring some mates along, but they told me I should come on my own.’

So alone he went, ending up back at the girls’ chalet, where he got amorous with one of the six girls.

Before long, one of the other girls appeared in the bedroom and climbed onto the bed with them, with the three of them getting hot and heavy.

The girls then told him the other four wanted to get involved, only for Shane to walk into the next bedroom to find all of them ready and waiting – naked.

He explains in his 2004 book Rags To Richie, that they took speed, downed wine and smoked a joint, and that the sex was like an ‘X-rated tag match’.

Ahead of his debut on I’m A Celeb! he has vowed to lose two dress sizes on the show as he’s due back on stage after lockdown.

Shane had been playing drag queen Loco Chanelle in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, telling MailOnline last week that he’s concerned he may not be able to fit into his costume after piling on the pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shane will be heading to Gwrych Castle in Wales for the new series of I’m A Celeb! and added that he’s convinced it’s haunted after reading tales of a countess who roamed the site.

Given the limited food stars are given on I’m A Celebrity, it’s no surprise that some contestants have lost significant amounts of weight on the show, and Shane has said he hopes the tough conditions will help him slim down.

He told MailOnline: ‘If I can drop two dress sizes I’ll be happy because I might be going back into Jamie The Musical in the West End, and right now there’s no way I’m going to get into my dress.

‘Girls you feel my pain right?! If I’m gonna be a Drag Queen I can’t be a size 16! ‘

This year’s I’m A Celebrity will see ten stars move into Gwrych Castle in Wales for the show’s first ever UK-based series in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shane admitted it was a challenge trying to keep his involvement in the show a secret, even when he was grilled about the rumours by his close friend and EastEnders co-star Jessie Wallace.

The actor added he fully believes stories the castle is haunted, after various accounts of spirits, previous owner the Winifred Hesketh, the Countess of Dundonald who died in 1924.

He added: ‘I don’t care what they say I believe it’s haunted. I’ve done a little bit of research about it.

‘I’m not into that big ghost thing but it could be a bit scary. I think the trials and the challenges could be one thing, but sleeping in a castle that’s potentially haunted…’

Despite confessing that he fears some of the trials he could face, Shane said he’s determined to make his wife Christie and his children proud.

He said: ‘I never used to be claustrophobic, the eating stuff I think I’ll be alright, but the one crawling through the tunnels and trying to get out.

‘And I’m just trying to think outside the box, you’ve got to get into a zone to get the stars, the more I think about it now the more it makes me want to go to the toilet, so I’ve just got to try and stay focused.

‘The other big thing is that I don’t want to let people down, if no one’s eaten for a couple of days and there’s me screaming going [screams] I’ll be so embarrassed.

‘I don’t want my kids to go to school with them going ”oh your dad was c**p last night” I can imagine a lot of celebrities’ parents who have got kids will feel the same, as long as they don’t make them feel embarrassed.

‘My elder boy don’t give a s**t, he’ll be emptying out his account just to get me to do all the trials! I’ve got a big family in Ireland and they all got in touch and they said they’re gonna empty their accounts to watch me go through hell!’
