Shark Tank Australia judge and Showpo founder Jane Lu gets smashed in the face with cake by employee during $40K viewing party – and her followers are horrified
Shark Tank Australia judge Jane Lu copped a cake to the face during her $40,000 viewing party last Wednesday night.
The Showpo founder, 36, was celebrating her stint on the Channel Ten reboot when her Senior Brand Manager Jessica Dang hit her with the confectionary.
While the entrepreneur appeared to take the prank in good spirits, even posting a video of the incident to Instagram, her followers were horrified.
The footage began innocently enough with Jane sporting a huge smile as she celebrated after watching the premiere episode of Shark Tank.
Surrounded by friends, family and co-workers, she cheered in front of the media wall she had set up in the Presidential Suite at Crown Sydney.
One of her employees then tapped Jane on the shoulder and threw the celebration cake in her face when she turned around.
The brutal hit sent the budding television star reeling into the media wall where she hit her head against the brick wall.
Despite the shock, Jane laughed the incident off along with Jessica as partygoers filmed the incident.
However her toddler son Lachy was shocked and burst into tears in the heartbreaking footage.

Followers flocked to the comment section of the video to express their horror.
‘Came to the comments to check it wasn’t just me. I’d be so upset if somebody did this to me,’ one person said.
Another added: ‘Was she trying to steal your spot light ? Seriously who in their right mind spoils someone’s shining moments?’

‘Oh my god. Thus hurt me to watch. I hope you’re okay,’ a third added, while someone else wrote: ‘Yeah this not funny at all.’
Someone else said they ‘would cry’ if their friends ever ruined their big celebration by smashing cake in their face.
Jane paid to have her makeup and hair done for the event, and also rented out a $40,000 a night Presidential Suite at Crown Sydney to host the viewing party.
The entrepreneur shared a video to Instagram in which she gave followers a tour of the palatial suite which has an office, karaoke room and spa.
