Shoppers are going wild for this $15 serving tray from Kmart, and saying it’s perfect for serving up the food trend of the season: pavlova grazing boards.

An Australian woman called Donna posted on Facebook, where she shared a snap of the $15 folding serving tray in action – and she had covered it with fresh fruit, meringues, whipped cream and melted chocolate.

‘Love the wooden table for the pavlova grazing platter today, awesome product from Kmart,’ she posted.

It wasn’t long before thousands of others shared photos of their own Kmart pavlova grazing boards in action.

‘That looks amazing and the tray is perfect for it – what a good idea,’ one person posted.

‘I did the same and the board was also from Kmart,’ another shopper added.

On the Kmart website, the tray has an impressive five star rating and more than 100 glowing reviews.

‘The tray is a great size and very sturdy and handy,’ one woman posted.

‘This is great for food, computers and books,’ another added.

Designed in the same way as a cheese board, the ingredients for the dessert are spread across a wooden platter for guests to make into miniature pavlovas themselves.

‘I’m back on the plattering bandwagon and as we are approaching the entertaining season this is super impressive for visitors!’ Jules wrote on Instagram – alongside her simple recipe. 

How to make Jules’s pavlova grazing board

INGREDIENTS

600mL whipped cream

Assorted fruit – strawberries, blueberries, kiwifruit, cherries, orange slices

Pre-made petite meringues

Assorted sauces – chocolate syrup, passionfruit curd, caramel sauce and strawberry sauce

METHOD 

1. Purchase all the ingredients and slice the fruit if needed.

2. Arrange the ingredients onto the grazing platter.

3. Serve to guests to enjoy and make the DIY pavlovas.
