Shoppers discover ‘secret corner’ in every Woolworths store

A Woolworths employee has shared one of the supermarket giant’s best kept secrets – the purpose of a ‘hidden’ room dubbed the ‘naughty corner’.

Liam Kirley, from New South Wales, has worked at Woolworths for almost six years.

He recently shared that most shoppers never realise every store has a secret area behind the milk fridges to help workers keep the stock topped up.

The hidden room lets workers seamlessly stack the milk shelves from behind, providing customers with minimal disturbance.

Liam shared a video touring the ‘naughty room’ – a name given by workers whose least favourite job is restocking the popular buy.

‘I’m here at Woolworths to show how our milk fridges work,’ he said in the clip. ‘It’s pretty impressive, trust me.

‘People may think that we stock the fridges from the front, but we don’t.

‘This is what’s behind the doors of the milk fridge. And when we’re about to stock the fridge, we put milk on one of the shelves and let it roll down.’

A worker shared that the room’s hilarious name originated at their store.

‘The milk fridge at my Woolies is called the naughty corner because everyone hates doing the milk,’ she said.

Many shoppers were shocked to discover the little-known room.

‘Wow, I never knew this! That is amazing,’ a woman said.

‘This is so brilliant – I want my fridge at home to do this,’ another added.

But some happened to be in the know.

‘This is why I always grab milk from the back – longer expiry!’ a woman shared.

‘I see people back there sometimes, I guess I’m not crazy!’ one said.

‘I’m surprised everyone doesn’t know this,’ another wrote.
