In February, Snoop (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) released his nineteenth studio album, BODR (abbreviation for Bacc On Death Row), which is his first record not to be released through Doggystyle Records.

Just before the album dropped, The Chronic rapper acquired the rights to the Death Row Records trademark from MNRK Music Group (formerly known as eOne Music).

The sale did not immediately include rights to the label’s catalog, but it was reported that he was nearing a deal with MNRK to acquire the catalogs, that would include his own previous work and other artists such as Dr. Dre, 2Pac and Tha Dogg Pound.

During his career, Snoop has sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.

However, the Gin and Juice rapper confirmed in May that ‘unforeseen conflicts’ meant he could no longer perform as planned.

‘Dear friends and fans, Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects, Snoop Dogg regrets he is canceling all upcoming non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022,’ the I Wanna Love You rapper’s rep said in a statement.

The message continued: ‘He was excited to see all his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show. He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future.’
