When he was a player he played for both Barcelona between 1996-2004 and Real Madrid from 1991-1996.

However his life hasn’t been without tragedy. In August 2019, he announced the death of his nine-year-old daughter after five-month battle with cancer.

‘Our daughter Xana has passed away this afternoon at the age of nine, after fighting for five intense months against osteosarcoma,’ the former Barcelona manager’s message on social media in August 2019 read.

‘We will miss you very much, but we will [be reminded of] you every day of our lives in the hope that in the future we will meet again. You will be the star that guides our family. We appreciate the discretion and understanding.’

The news comes after Enrique’s side put one of the most dominant displays of the World Cup in modern times to show off their credentials to win the tournament in Qatar.
