Sunrise hosts take a swipe at the Kardashians for making billions out of ‘nothing’ – as Natalie Barr slams David Jones for stocking Kim’s Skims

The hosts of Sunrise didn’t hold back on Thursday when they slammed the Kardashians during a live broadcast.

Natalie Barr, Monique Wright, Mark Beretta and Michael Usher claimed the Kardashians have made billions of dollars out of ‘nothing’.

Barr, 54, said how shocked she was that Kim Kardashian‘s successful Skims clothing line was now being stocked in upmarket Australian department store, David Jones, after it divided customers.

‘It’s amazing they’ve made billions of dollars,’ Natalie began.

‘And they created it from nothing haven’t they?’ Mark interjected.

‘Well, something,’ Natalie quipped, seemingly referring to Kim’s sex tape with Ray J which was leaked and catapulted her to fame.

‘My six year old made the same point and said how are they so rich and famous?’ Monique said.

‘They’ve got clothing lines, makeup brands, underwear in DJs, would you believe it?!’ Natalie added.

Kim, 41, is said to be worth a whopping $1.8billion according to Forbes, thanks to her successful KKW beauty and fragrance lines and her Skims range.

In January, it was reported that shapewear brand Skims doubled in value to $3.2billion.

Her younger sister Kylie Jenner, 24, was previously proclaimed to be a billionaire by Forbes thanks to her Kylie Cosmetics line, but later claimed her personal fortune was $900million.

Kim and her famous siblings including Khloe, Kourtney and Kendall, all found success through their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which recently left its home on channel E! to move to streaming service Hulu as The Kardashians.

Earlier this month, Kim sparked a firestorm on social media simply by having Skims stocked at Australian retail giant, David Jones.

After the Australian department store shared a promo for the line on their official Instagram account, disgruntled shoppers flooded the comments section and vowed not to support Kim’s popular shapewear brand.

‘Hard pass on buying anything endorsed or created by any Kardashian,’ raged one.

‘No thanks, shocked David Jones took her products on,’ wrote another, while many others called the move ‘disappointing’.

Many of the comments complained about the promo video for the brand, which showed Kim in a busty bra and matching bottoms.

Despite the backlash, some Kardashian fans pushed back against the negativity.

‘Why are there so many negative nancys in these comments? It’s wonderful that DJs is stocking new and different brands,’ wrote one.

‘It’s amazing that the range comes in so many colours, sizes and styles! We haven’t been lucky enough to have such a wide range of shapewear in Australia before! Well done DJs for catering to the modern ‘every woman’,’ they added.

‘Love that DJs sells Skims.. the cozy dressing gown is amazing!’ wrote another.
