Sunrise’s Monique Wright has been branded a ‘Grinch’ after revealing she ‘hates Christmas‘.

The mother-of-three, 49,  was speaking to David Koch on the Channel 7 show on Wednesday when the panel discussed Cliff Richard’s upcoming Christmas album, which she quickly branded ‘rubbish’.

When asked by a baffled Kochie if she felt anything towards the 81-year-old British crooner festive song, she quickly snapped back: ‘Yes I feel a lot. I hate Christmas’.

Her co-anchor quickly questioned how she can hate the festive period when she has ‘eight children in her house’ to which she replied: ‘I enjoy them enjoying it,  but it’s just work!’.

The Sunrise team seemed to find her reaction hilarious, tweeting out the clip edited with moments from the 2000 film How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

‘Monique ‘Grinch’ Wright didn’t hold back and told us what she REALLY thinks about Christmas’ they added in the caption.

Notoriously private Monique shares three children with her ex-husband  Tim Scanlan. It’s not clear who the other five children in her household are.

Monique and Tim began dating after meeting in 2008, and married just a year later.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph in April 2015, Monique revealed she was stunned to discover she was pregnant with her third child at 42.

‘It was the last thing that we expected. It was completely unplanned but we are absolutely thrilled,’ she said at the time.

Monique said she hoped her surprise pregnancy would give ‘hope’ to women who may be struggling with fertility issues.

Monique first joined Channel Seven as a reporter in 1996, before replacing Grant Denyer as the weather presenter on Sunrise.

In February 2014, she was announced as co-host of Weekend Sunrise after previously filling in for former host Samantha Armytage.
