‘It’s going to be a long clean-up effort and waiting for significant help from crews and emergency services in that Fitzroy Crossing region,’ Sky News Meteorologist Rob Sharpe said.
The floods in Fitzroy Crossing have been caused by continuous downpour from ex-tropical Cyclone Ellie, which is weakening and pushing inland.
The wet conditions are expected to continue in Sydney into the weekend with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a shower or two for Saturday.
The weather will begin to clear with cloudy conditions remaining on Sunday before clearing up on Monday.
