A teacher at a Christian high school was arrested after she allegedly sent a student sexually explicit text messages and made plans to sneak him into her home while her husband was out. 

Julie Hoover, 38, a teacher at Point of Grace Christian School in Perry, Florida, was arrested and charged with an authority figure soliciting or engaging in sex with a student on Wednesday. 

Police records obtained by WCTV show that the student’s mother found the explicit messages on her son’s phone, and reported it to police on June 2. 

Hoover had been sexting with the 18-year-old student, a senior at the school, from March to April, according to police.

The student’s mother told police that Hoover was planning to have her son come over to her house while her husband was out of the way at work. 

Hoover was released on Thursday on $15,000 bond.

The student was enrolled in more than one of Hoover’s classes, according to police. 

A graduate of St. Leo University, Hoover taught math at the school since 2018, according to her LinkedIn page. 

Hoover’s social media was deactivated as of June 12.  

Point of Grace Christian School could not be reached for comment by DailyMail.com at the time of publication.

The small school teaches kindergarten through 12th grade, and had a just 20 students in its graduating class this year. 

The mission statement on the school’s website reads: ‘The goal of POGC is to train youth in the highest principles of moral character, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship. POGC stands without apology for high standards of morality and wisdom.’

It begins with a verse from the bible: ‘Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’
