The 15-year-old daughter of millionaire financier Ben Goldsmith has died in a horrific quad bike accident.
Ambulances rushed to their home in North Brewham, Somerset, after Iris Annabel crashed in a field next to the family farm.
Her mother, Kate Rothschild, made her part of two of the most powerful families in the world.
The two dynasties are worth billions of pounds together and for decades, they have had great sway over the UK’s political and financial worlds.
A local from the village said: ‘Everyone here who’s heard what happened is devastated by this.
‘The whole village has been affected by this, as you can imagine. Our hearts go out to her parents and family. It’s a very sensitive time.’
Iris was a high flying student at Wycombe Abbey, a £12,980-a-term independent girls’ boarding school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
She had just started her summer break having studied for her GCSEs when she died.
Iris was the first child of Ben and Kate, who are believed to have a joint fortune of more than £300 million, MailOnline reports.
The former couple have two sons together – Frank, 13, and Issac, 11.
Ben married the heiress to the Rothschild banking empire, in 2003 but separated in 2012 when Kate started a relationship with rapper Jay Electronica.
The Old Etonian has two children, Eliza and Arlo, with catering company boss Jemima Jones, who he married two years after the split.
Ben’s older brother is Tory MP Zac Goldsmith and his sister is documentary and film producer Jemima Khan, the former wife of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He is an advisor to Environment minister Michael Gove and was appointed as a non-executive director at the Department for the Environment , Food and Rural Affairs om 2018.
Ben is also chairman to the Goldsmith’s JMG Foundation, which bankrolls environmental campaigns and work.
