The Bachelor’s Matty Johnson shows off his killer bod in a Speedo as he goes to extreme lengths for fitness

The Bachelor‘s Matty J Johnson has shown off his impressive physique – and incredible commitment to fitness – in a new video.

The newly-wed, 35, stripped down to his trunks and showed off his tattooed body as he lowered himself into a bin-style plastic box filled with ice.

‘First session doing breath work with  Deano Gladstone. She was fresh,’ he wrote in the caption.

He then shared a second snap looking unimpressed in the makeshift tub.

‘Just stand there, there’s lots of nerves in your hands and feet,’ breathwork expert Deano explains off camera before telling Matt to go neck deep.

Ice baths and training have become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to the celebrity-loved Wim Hof Method, which is a form of meditative therapy.

Popularised by ‘ice man’ Wim Hof,  it consists of three components – deep breathing, exposure to cold water, and a focused mindset.

Wim claims the first step, the breathing, is ‘like a broom that cleans the body’s biochemistry’.

The breathing ‘activates the adrenal access to the brain, reduces inflammation, alkalises the blood, and regulates the body’.

It comes after the 35-year-old, who recently married long-time partner Laura Byrne, showcased his muscular body while swimming laps at Sydney‘s famous Bondi Icebergs ocean pool last month.

Matty previously opened up about his healthy habits and what he does to maintain his Adonis-like physique.

‘I always love my cardio. I normally try and get in at least one run and a cycle in each week as well as a few weight sessions,’ he told Body+Soul in 2020.

‘I don’t really have a strict plan; it’s more about doing what I enjoy… except leg weights. I need to force myself to do them and grow my chicken pins.’

In November, Matty finally tied the knot with podcast host Laura Byrne, five years after they met and fell in love on The Bachelor.

The couple exchanged vows at Cupitt’s Estate near Mollymook, on the NSW South Coast, in front of friends and family.

Proudly displaying their love in front of their guests, the pair wrapped their arms around each other and enjoyed a passionate kiss after saying ‘I do’.

Matty referenced his time on The Bachelor during his wedding speech, joking he had to ‘work his way through 24 other women’ before getting to Laura.

He first shot to fame on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016, before becoming The Bachelor himself a year later and meeting Laura.
