Affectionately known as ‘Puerto Rican Pedro’ by the Kyle and Jackie O team, Vitola will start in the new role next year reports Variety Australia.

Vitola has been with the award-winning program since 2016.

He joined the network as a junior producer after being chosen as the winner of Kyle and Jackie O’s ‘World’s Best Job’, listener competition.

Vitola has been known to stir controversy.  In September last year, the radio producer’s anti-vax stance inspired host Kyle Sandilands to criticise Vitola on air.

Sandilands, 51, described him as a  ‘bloody pain in the arse and a stupid pr***, during one episode of the show, after the producer refused to get vaccinated.

It comes after Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 47,  announced on November 14 she was stepping down from the show for health reasons.
