The Masked Singer: Linda Blair and Ray Parker Jr reveal identities during Fright Night episode

Linda Blair voluntarily withdrew and Ray Parker Jr. was unmasked on Wednesday during a double-elimination episode of The Masked Singer on Fox.

The 63-year-old star of The Exorcist performed as Scarecrow during the season eight Fright Night episode that also featured Ray, 68, who performed as Sir Bug A Boo, and Snowstorm who advanced to the semifinals.

Scarecrow interrupted show host Nick Cannon, 42, before he could reveal the results of audience voting before the first unmasking.

‘Wait! Wait! Wait!,’ Scarecrow said. ‘Nick! Nick! I have something to say.’

‘What’s happening?,’ asked panelist Nicole Scherzinger, 44, as Scarecrow disrupted the usual routine.

‘Everybody! I love this show so much,’ Scarecrow said. ‘I came to share how much I love you and what you all have done for the world in family entertainment. But I would like to officially bow out and unmask and let these two incredible competitors go on,’ Scarecrow said.

Scarecrow called Sir Bug A Boo and Snowstorm ‘the real deal’ and joked that she came on the show to bother panelist Ken Jeong, 53.

‘I’ve enjoyed entertaining you so much through the years,’ Scarecrow said as Nick said it was commendable and kind of her to bow out.

‘She just threw herself out of the competition,’ said shocked panelist Jenny McCarthy, 50.

Ken gave a final guess of Parker Posey, Jenny went with Glenn Close, Robin Thicke guessed Susan Sarandon and Nicole picked horror queen Jamie Lee Curtis.

Final guesses: Robin Thicke for his final guess went with Susan Sarandon, while Jenny guessed Glenn Close, Ken Jeong guessed Parker Posey and Nicole went with Jamie Lee Curtis

The audience and panelists chanted ‘take it off’ as Linda removed her pumpkin head to reveal her identity.

‘Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Wow, wow, wow,’ said Robin, 45.

Linda noted that she knew Robin since he was a boy and the panelist said his late father Alan loved her.

Nick asked why she decided to come on the Fox show.

‘Let me tell you what you do for me and for the world. You take us out of what is the most difficult time in history, right now, for one hour a week of entertainment,’ Linda said.

Linda said she deals with animals being abused and abandoned with her Linda Blair World Heart Foundation.

‘I travel the world, I do what I can to make it a better place,’ Linda said. You all have no idea, your kindness and your love. And if you can heal me, in as much pain as I am in, to try to save those that don’t deserve what’s happening. We can do better. And I feel you are my family.’

Ken emotionally thanked Linda for using her platform and the show in the best way possible as he wiped away tears.

Linda earlier performed Abracadabra by The Steve Miller Band after dropping clues including being the ‘scariest contestant’ in show history.

‘I’ve turned plenty of heads in my career,’ Scarecrow said during her clues package, referencing the head spinning by her possessed character Regan MacNeil in the 1973 horror film The Exorcist.

Sir Bug A Boo opened the show with a spirited rendition of Devil With A Blue Dress On that had the audience and panelists up and dancing.

Jenny based on the clues was close and guessed that Sir Bug A Boo was Ernie Hudson, 76, who played Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters film franchise.

Snowstorm also performed Sweet But Psycho by Ava Max.

The Battle Royale after Scarecrow’s voluntary exit featured Snowstorm against Sir Bug A Boo taking turns singings Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell.

Snowstorm was declared the winner and Sir Bug A Boo took off his mask revealing himself as Ray who wrote and performed the theme song to the 1984 supernatural comedy Ghostbusters.

‘A true legend in the building,’ Nick bellowed after Ray unmasked.

Ray said he watched the show last year when the panelists during a season five episode guessed that he was Bobby Brown, 53, who was performing as Crab.

Nick asked Ray if he had anything to say to friends, family, fans and people watching at home.

‘I wanna say when y’all need somebody else to come on this show and you need somebody extra, who you gonna call?,’ Ray said dropping the famous line from the Ghostbusters theme song.

Ray then performed for a last time unmasked and treated the audience to a fun rendition of Ghostbusters.

‘Who you gonna call?,’ Ray said at the end of the song.

‘Ghostbusters!,’ the panelists and audience called back.

The Masked Singer will return on Thursday on Fox with the ‘Battle of the Semi Finals’ episode.
