The Voice: Blake Shelton and wife Gwen Stefani team up to help each other win over contestants

Blake Shelton and wife Gwen Stefani teamed up to help each other win over contestants as the blind auditions continued on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice.

When John Legend, 43, blocked Blake, 46, from contestant Peyton Aldridge, Blake then tried to convince the singer that he would make news if he picked his wife Gwen, 52, over John.

Grammy-winner John had just joined Peyton, 25, an assistant basketball coach from Cleveland, Mississippi, on stage to sing a duet of his hit song All Of Me.

‘You did have a great moment there with John singing and it was very special,’ Blake said. ‘But what would really have them talking tomorrow morning on the Today show would be if, after that moment happened, you chose Gwen Stefani to be your coach.’

‘Yes!’ Gwen said. ‘So very strategic.’

‘He knows who he’s going home with tonight and it ain’t John Legend,’ John said.

Peyton ultimately picked John to be his mentor.
