The Voice: Justin Aaron earns standing ovation from all four judges as final 13 contestants perform

Justin Aaron blew the judges away with his emotional show-stopping performance of the song Break Every Chain on Monday’s two-hour episode of The Voice on NBC.

The 34-year-old singer from Junction City, Kansas, team was the last contestant on the show where the top 13 contestants each performed a song that changed their life.

Before he took the stage, Justin told his coach Gwen Stefani, 53, that the Tasha Cobbs song came into his life during one of the darkest moments when he was suffering from depression.

‘This song literally changed the trajectory of my life,’ Justin said.

When he finished his performance all the judges were on their feet.

‘Amazing,’ said show host Carson Daly, 49.

‘You keep showing us more and more of who you are and your ability and it’s incredible to watch,’ John Legend, 43, said. ‘You’re amazing.’

‘You took it to the next level,’ Gwen said. ‘I’m in awe of you.’

Gwen’s youngest team member 19-year-old Kique from Miami was the first contestant of the night. He picked Steve Wonder’s song Superstition dedicated it to his high school band teacher who inspired him . He said in rehearsals that he was going for gold.

‘I love your voice,’ Camila Cabello, 25, said when he finished.

Team Blake Shelton contestant Bryce Leatherwood, 22, from Woodstock, Georgia picked George Strait’s song Amarillo By Morning to perform. Bryce said this song had been in his set list since day one.

‘My goal is to do the song to the best of my ability and do the king justice,’ Bryce said.

Blake, 46, stood up and applauded when he finished.

‘It just sounded so perfect and natural,’ John said when he finished. ‘You looked like a star up there. Your voice sounded pure and beautiful.’

‘I was so into that,’ Blake said. ‘I love George Strait and I love Bryce.’

From Team Camila, Devix, 28, from York, Pennsylvania picked the song R U Mine by the Arctic Monkeys. Devix took the stage and performed the song playing his guitar. Camila gave him a standing ovation.

‘It was really, really good,’ John said.

‘You went superstar on this one,’ Camila said. ‘You are amazing. I want to scream.’

South Dakota pop artist Rowan Grace picked ABBA’s song The Winner Takes It All. Rowan, 17, said when she was little she would perform ABBA’S songs for her parents. Blake encouraged Rowan to push herself. The crowd cheered for her when she finished.

‘It’s so good that’s why people love you,’ Blake said of the way she approaches the songs.

Team Legend contestant Omar Jose Cardona, 34, from Orlando, Florida picked Bebe Rexha and Martin Garrix’s song In the Name of Love. He said the song helped him through a dark time in his life.

‘Insane power right here,’ Carson aid when he finished. ‘I’m electrified.’

‘Your voice is so otherworldly that we forget that you are human sometimes,’ John said. ‘This just unlocked another level.’

Team Gwen contestant Alyssa Witrado, 19, from Fresno, California, picked Selena Gomez’s song Dreaming of You. She said the song reminded her of the loss of her grandfather. Gwen encouraged her to show emotions when she performed.

‘I think your energy is contagious,’ Camila said.

‘You make me smile every single time I see you,’ Gwen said. ‘I’m really proud of you.’

Team Blake’s California soul artist Bodie, 29, from Ladera Ranch, California, picked the song I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers. Bodie shared that this was his wedding song. He said the song changed his life.

All the judges gave him a standing ovation when he finished.

‘You are so unbelievably gifted,’ Gwen said. ‘So talented. Your voice is ridiculous. But what I loved about tonight and what you do is that you have so much access to your heart. It’s so real.’

‘Dude this is your moment,’ Blake said.

Team Legend’s Texas powerhouse Kim Cruise,30, from Woodville, Texas, picked Willie Nelson’s version of the song Always on My Mind she said it was inspired by losing her grandmother.

‘I’m pretty sure they heard that up in the heavens,’ Blake said. ‘That was beautiful. It was incredible.’ 

Brayden Lape, from Grass Lake, Michigan, picked Sam Hunt’s version of Kenny Chesney’s song Come Over. He told Blake that was the first song when he realized he loved performing.

‘You have a solid country voice that’s different and unique.

Team Camila’s pop singer Eric Who, 22, from Orangeburg, South Carolina, did a stripped down version of the Elvis Presleys’ song Can’t Help Falling in Love.

‘You are so brave and fearless and that’s why I love you,’ Camila said.

Team Camila’s next contestant Morgan Myles, 35, from Nashville picked Beyonce’s song If I Were A Boy. She said the song resonated with her. The crowd cheered for her when she finished.

‘You are one of my favorites in this competition period,’ Blake said.

The Voice will return Tuesday night on NBC.
