A 12-year-old boy captured the hearts (and stomachs) of The Voice Kids’ judges and studio audience with his pitch-perfect voice and love for chicken nuggets.
Jae-Jai walked onto the ITV set with a hunger for chicken nuggets and singing, and boy did he serve.
Performing an Aladdin song, Speechless, Jae-Jai became part of Pixie Lott’s team and there couldn’t be a better match.
We’d turn our chairs in a heart beat.
Judge Danny Jones asked the contestant: ‘Do you do anything other than sing or do you sing all the time?’
‘I sing and I sing about chicken nuggets,’ Jae-Jai responded.
So do we, kid, minus the actual being good at singing part.
He proceeded to sing his original song about the crispy nuggets of gold, belting out: ‘Chicken nuggets are the best thing ever because they are crispy and delicious/ Chicken nuggets are so good.’
Oh, but that wasn’t all, as the talented boy even made up a quick song about the red chair after Danny assumed he could make a song about anything sound good.
The talent competition will air its final this month without a studio audience due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Entertainment host Richard Arnold revealed the exciting news on Good Morning Britain.
Speaking to Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray, Richard explained: ‘I can reveal the long-awaited final of The Voice Kids will be going ahead on August 29.
‘It is going ahead will all the bells and whistles attached meaning coaches chairs, two-metres apart, every performance will be choreographed to enable social-distancing.’
The Voice Kids airs at 7:25pm on Saturday on ITV.
