The White Lotus is renewed for a third season at a new resort by HBO after just three episodes of season two
HBO has booked another stay with The White Lotus.
The premium television network announced Friday that it had renewed its critically acclaimed anthology series The White Lotus for a third season.
The series, which was created, written and directed by Mike White, will again feature a new cast of characters staying at a luxury resort.

The renewal comes after only three episodes of the second season had aired, indicating a strong vote of confidence from the network.
Nielsen data indicated that the second season premiere had a 63 percent higher viewership than the first season premiere, suggesting a number of new fans had tuned in.
‘Reflecting on The White Lotus’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows,’ said Executive Vice President of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi, who also heads the network’s drama TV shows and films, via Variety.
‘And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in season two, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision,’ she continued. ‘His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and buoyant directing style, have us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to adore. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together.’

Details: It’s not clear where the third season will be set, but it will be at a new White Lotus property and most likely with a completely new cast; still from season two
White expressed excitement about a chance for a third trip in his own statement.
‘There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and there’s no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team,’ he said. ‘I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators on The White Lotus.’
So far, there aren’t any details about where the next season of the series will be located.
Although the vast majority of the cast was new for the second season, Jennifer Coolidge returned as Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, a wealthy woman who struggled with the death of her mother and is now adjusting to a new relationship with a man she met on her previous White Lotus trip (played again by Jon Gries).
Winner: Season one star Jennifer Coolidge (second to R) won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress and was one of only two returning cast members for season two; seen with (L–R) Nora Skinner, Casey Bloys, White and Francesca Orsi
The series, which was initially ordered in October 2020, was intended as a six-episode limited series, but rapturous reviews from critics and strong viewership convinced the network to order a second season.
It swept up at award shows as well, earning 10 Emmy Awards after receiving 20 nominations.
Among the actors, Coolidge won Best Supporting Actress at the Emmys, while Murray Bartlett, who played a high-strung hotel manager, won Best Supporting Actor.
In addition to Coolidge, season two stars Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, The Sopranos’ Michael Imperiolo, Theo James, Tom Hollander and F. Murray Abraham, among others.
