EXCLUSIVE: Tina O’Brien reignites feud with ex Ryan Thomas after calling out a ‘narcissistic father’ who is a ‘bully’ and a ‘cruel lying arrogant person’ in now-deleted Instagram post
Coronation Street actress Tina O’Brien appears to have reignited her feud with ex Ryan Thomas, calling out a ‘narcissistic father’ in a now-deleted Instagram story.
The soap star, 40, said that she ‘deeply resonates’ with a quote she shared on her social media profile that referenced a ‘tyrannical narcissistic father’ who is also a ‘bully’ and a ‘cruel lying arrogant person.’
She added alongside the upload on Thursday night, ‘Thankfully not my dad… but a dad that I know very well… deeply resonates.’
Tina’s Instagram story is thought not to be about her husband Adam Crofts, who she married in 2018.
The quote posted by Tina described a father that is ‘totally entrenched in his grandiose world’ who ‘insists that everyone follows his commands.’
It also said the behaviours of such a man can be ’emotionally damaging to all family members’ and cause ‘lifelong wounds.’
In full it read: ‘The tyrannical narcissistic father is a bully – a cruel, lying, arrogant person.
‘He is a tyrant that is totally entrenched in his grandiose world and insistent that everyone follow his commands.
‘He is emotionally abusive and can cause significant emotional damage to all family members.
‘Unfortunately, his behaviours cause the relationship within a family to be toxic and can cause lifelong wounds.’
Tina and Ryan, 39, share daughter Scarlette, 14, together after meeting on the set of Coronation Street and dating for six years until 2009.
The former couple starred on the cobbles when Ryan played Jason Grimshaw and they were romantically linked both on and off screen.
TV actress Tina, who still plays Sarah Platt, also has a son, Beau, eight, with husband Adam Crofts.
As well as being a father to Scarlette, who currently stars in ITV drama Waterloo Road, Ryan has a son, Roman, three, and a 15-month-old daughter called Lilah with former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh.
In March 2022, it was reported by The Sun that Tina had been accused of ‘smashing Ryan’s car with a baseball bat after a furious late-night row.’
The publication told how Ryan had blamed ex-Tina for damage caused to the wing mirror on his Range Rover, with a source at the time citing their ‘fractious relationship.’
On Friday morning, Tina posted a headshot of daughter Scarlette, saying how ‘proud’ she is of the teen for pursuing her acting dreams on Waterloo Road.
She said: ‘So proud of Scarlette Thomas, she’s work so hard on Waterloo Road, and I’ve absolutely loved watching her portrayal of Izzy.
‘Wonderful to see her talent recognised by TV Times magazine as she’s been notated for an award #proudmum’
