Triple M breakfast show host Steve Grahame suspended amid allegations of inappropriate behaviour at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards

Triple M breakfast radio host Steve Grahame has been suspended after an incident which allegedly took place at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Sydney on October 29.

The award-winning radio host was taken off air around November 9 for alleged inappropriate behaviour on the night he and co-host Tanya Wilks took home Best On-Air Team (Provincial), according to the Daily Telegraph.

Southern Cross Austereo confirmed on Monday they were ‘investigating an issue raised regarding Triple M Newcastle’ but would not comment further.

Steve has been on air with Tanya for over 20 years in the Newcastle and Hunter region, co-hosting their Tanya & Steve weekday breakfast show. 

They attended the ACRAs alongside their executive producer Tyran ‘EP Ty’ Stig and co-host Ryan ‘Ryzy’ Stuart. 

Following, the event Southern Cross Austereo hosted an after-party event at Pumphouse Bar & Restaurant in Darling Harbour for its broadcasters.

Tanya & Steve were on air for three mornings following the ACRAs but inexplicably didn’t return on November 3. 

It was over a week before the show returned to the airwaves on November 14 with Tanya, Ryzy and EP Ty hosting. 

Tanya explained she and Steve had been going through some tough times and he would be taking a short break from the show.

‘I can’t tell you everything. That’s the truth. But I can tell you, both Steve and I, separately, have probably had, I would suggest, a couple of the worst months of our lives,’ she said. 

‘And that’s separately. That’s got nothing to do with one another and that’s got nothing to do with work.’

She went on to say Steve had made the decision ‘not to come back’ on November 8 and would return to the show in ‘a couple of weeks’. 

‘I promise you this. We will be back. The foursome – stronger, bigger, better than ever. We’ve already put some stuff in place for next year,’ she added.
