Attorneys for President Trump plan to petition the US Supreme Court to overturn a ruling by a lower court that would let Manhattan DA Cy Vance see his tax returns, according to court papers filed Friday.
The Trump legal team asked the nine-judge panel to hear the case no later than Nov. 14.
Trump sued Vance in September to try and stop him from executing subpoenas served on Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, seeking personal and corporate financial records dating back to 2011.
Manhattan federal court judge Victor Marrero threw out the lawsuit in a scathing opinion decrying Trump’s claims of blanket immunity — which Trump immediately appealed to the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
That 2nd Circuit ruled earlier this week that Vance was within his right to execute the Mazars subpoenas.
