A Virgin Atlantic flight with more than 250 passengers on board traveling from London to Los Angeles has been forced to divert to Canada.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner landed at Goose Bay Airport, a Canadian Forces Base located in the municipality of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

A concerned twitter user questioned the airliner for a status on flight VS141. 

Virgin Atlantic responded: ‘All impacted passengers have been notified of their reprotection options and can also be viewed when they log into ‘My booking’ on our website.’

The user asked whether they landed in Canada, with the company confirming: ‘We can confirm that the VS141 has landed in Goose Bay Airport in Canada.’

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner left from Heathrow Airport in London and was forced to land at Goose Bay Airport, a Canadian Forces Base located in the municipality of Happy Valley-Goose Bay

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson told DailyMail.com: ‘As a precautionary measure, the VS141 from London Heathrow to Los Angeles has diverted to Goose Bay in Canada due to a technical issue. 

‘The safety and security of our customers and crew always remains our highest priority and wasn’t compromised at any point.

‘We will be sending a recovery flight to collect all customers from Goose Bay which will transport them to New York JFK, where customers will be provided with accommodation and our teams will help with their onward journey to Los Angeles. We’d like to sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience caused.’
