A woman has detailed how she received a mysterious package from her dead grandmother — nearly two years after she passed.

Influencer Jen Hamilton, 32, from North Carolina, shared her shock in a now-viral TikTok video that showed her opening the padded envelope, which contained a photo of her late grandparents and a money order for $250.

‘I just got a package in the mail from my grandma. That would not be strange —except for the fact that my grandma passed away almost two years ago,’ she said.

Hamilton pulled out the items one by one before looking inside the envelope one more time to make sure she didn’t miss anything.

She held up the photograph for the camera, explaining in the on-screen text that her grandfather had died years before her grandmother.

The money order was in her grandmother’s name, but there was ‘no note’ offering any further context. Hamilton was baffled.

‘I feel like I’m having a weird reaction to this because, like, I don’t know even what to think right now,’ she said, pointing to the address sticker on the package.

‘This sticker is my grandmother’s stationary sticker, like with her address of where she lived when she was alive.’

The money order was dated November 14, 2022, and sent out a few days later.

Hamilton reiterated in a follow-up video that there was ‘no letter, no context, no nothing’ to explain the parcel.

Many viewers assumed that her grandmother had prepared the package and arranged to have it sent out before she died, but that wasn’t the case.

To make things even stranger, her sister and had received ‘identical packages’ with the exact same things inside.

‘My mom had no clue what was going on, but she did recognize the handwriting on the package,’ Hamilton explained.

After some further digging, it was discovered that one of her aunts and uncles had sold her grandmother’s car and divided the profits among the members of the family. The money order was her portion of the sale.

‘And we didn’t know — we weren’t expecting any proceeds from that at all. But they split it 18 different ways,’ she said.

Hamilton added that she is ‘excited to use that money in the way that grandma would have wanted me to’ this holiday season.

‘Thanks, Grams,’ she said at the end of the video.

Many viewers agreed it was a ‘wonderful story,’ though some felt her relatives could have executed the payouts in a way that didn’t cause so much confusion.

‘That was very sweet, but couldn’t your aunt have sent a note instead of freaking [y’all] out?’ one person asked.

‘Your aunt and uncle doing that speaks VOLUMES! That’s a rare thing for families to not be selfish after a loved [one’s] passing,’ another added.

‘Death brings about a lot of greed in people, so it’s really nice to know that they sold that car and did what your grams would’ve wanted them to,’ someone else shared.
