Barbarian trailer finds Georgina Campbell and Bill Skarsgard double-booked at an AirBnB as their lives are turned upside down

Georgina Campbell and Bill Skarsgard meet under unfortunate circumstances… that ultimately become the least of their problems in the new trailer for Barbarian, in theaters August 31.

Campbell stars as Tess, a young woman who comes to town for a job interview and books an AirBnB, but once she arrives, she finds Keith (Bill Skarsgard) has already booked the home.

She ends up staying the night while they try to figure out what happened… as they soon learn they have bigger problems than just being double-booked.

The trailer opens on a rainy night ass Tess drags her luggage to the AirBnB home, dismayed to discover there is no key in the lock box.

‘Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me,’ Tess says before she starts ringing the doorbell, when Keith answers with a, ‘Yeah?’

‘This is 476 Barbary, right?’ Tess asks, as Keith confirms, ‘Yeah, I’m renting this place.’

‘No, I booked it a month ago,’ Tess adds, as Keith asks, ‘Are you sure you have the right place?’

‘Yeah. What am I supposed to do?’ Tess asks, as Keith offers, ‘Why don’t you come inside, and we’ll call these idiots.’

After calling said idiots apparently didn’t work, Keith offers Tess to crash there for the night, though Tess declines at first.

‘I don’t know if you got a good look at this neighborhood, but I don’t think you should be out there by yourself,’ Keith says, as Tess takes a look around outside and doesn’t see much out there.

He offers to give her the bedroom, saying, ‘It’s dry and there’s a lock on the door,’ before formally introducing himself.

Keith says he’ll sleep out on the couch in the living room, while Tess finds his wallet and takes a picture of his ID… just in case, before crashing down on the bed.

Later that night – despite Tess clearly locking the door – she wakes up to hear the door opening, and as she turns to the open door she hears footsteps running away from her room.

Tess heads down into the basement, where she finds a rope coming out of the wall that she pulls, revealing a secret door that opens.

She creeps her way through this secret area when she hears Keith cry out, ‘Help me!’

She keeps creeping through the hallway when Keith crawls out of the dark, startling her.

A small room is shown with a VHS tape being pushed into a VCR as a narrator on the tape is heard saying, ‘This process might seem overwhelming.’

She’s seen in another corridor when she finds Justin Long’s character with a flashlight, who seems just as terrified as she is.

The trailer winds down with the shots being sped up as the narrator says, ‘But with a little practice, it can be a pleasurable experience.’

The trailer ends with a shot of an idyllic home, seemingly in the 1950s, as the narrator adds, ‘This is perfectly natural,’ as the trailer comes to an end.
