Evidence mounts of Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 and Microsoft Surface Pro 10 with Qualcomm Snapdragon X launching with at least 16 GB RAM

In a recent tweet, @thebookisclosed highlighted that Microsoft will require devices to feature certain hardware for them to run its new ‘AI Explorer’ within Windows 11. Specifically, AI Explorer requires an ARM64 CPU, a Snapdragon X NPU, 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. It remains to be seen how AI Explorer will play with existing hardware though, including those without dedicated NPUs.

Incidentally, a recent Geekbench leak confirmed that Microsoft had developed a Surface device with 16 GB of RAM, as well as a Snapdragon X Plus chipset. As such, it seems that 16 GB of RAM may be the minimum RAM configuration for Snapdragon X machines running Windows, unlike the ‘for Business’ versions of the Surface Laptop 6 and Surface Pro 10. Currently, Microsoft is expected to reveal consumer versions of those machines on May 20. With that being said, Qualcomm has hinted that it will outline new Snapdragon X details tomorrow.
