President Donald Trump has referred to Biden as a criminal and said he and his son, Hunter Biden, are part of an “organized crime family.” This is due in part to unsubstantiated allegations about the Bidens’ business dealings with foreign countries.
“It’s come to this: A neighbor reports that AG William Barr’s house in McLean is being picketed by Trump supporters who believe he’s not doing enough to lock up Joe Biden,” tweeted Glenn Kessler, editor and chief writer for The Washington Post‘s Fact Checker.
Kessler shared a photo of the Trump supporters outside Barr’s suburban home in McLean, Virginia.
Other social media users also shared photos of the scene, with one picture featuring a white horse.
AP journalist Mike Balsamo reported that the Department of Justice had said Barr went out to speak to the picketers.
“A DOJ official says Barr went outside to greet the crowd, chatted with the folks out there, explained DOJ’s role generally in investigations and then shook hands and posed for photos with them,” Balsamo tweeted.
Other photos showed the group of men, some with Trump flags and others with t-shirts saying “Crooked Hillary,” a reference to the president’s attacks on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The group also carried signs saying “Equal justice is coming” and “Biden lies matter”, as well as a Bible quote from the Book of Proverbs: “They that forsake the law praise the wicked.”
Trump has accused Biden of being a criminal in recent weeks as allegations against his son Hunter caused controversy following a New York Post story about a laptop allegedly belonging to him. The claim has not been substantiated.
“Let me tell you something, Joe Biden is a criminal and he’s been a criminal for a long time, and you’re a criminal and the media for not reporting it,” Trump told reporters on October 20.
“He is a criminal. He’s a criminal. He got caught, read his laptop and you know who’s a criminal, you’re a criminal for not reporting it,” he said.
