Warren Toby, 53, was allegedly stabbed to death on Christmas Day
Neighbours have described the horrifying final moments of a father who was allegedly stabbed to death by his daughter’s boyfriend on Christmas Day.
Police rushed to Hall Street in North Ipswich, southwest of Brisbane, just before midnight on Friday on reports of a domestic dispute.
Paramedics desperately tried to resuscitate Warren Toby, 53, who was found in the front garden of the home, but he could not be revived.
A 33-year-old man was charged with his alleged murder on Saturday.
Police said the group were drinking before an argument broke out and spilled onto the street.
‘As the evening has gone on, there has been a disturbance at the dwelling and as a result… it’s moved out to the front yard and at some point, two males have become involved in an altercation in the front yard,’ Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said.

Local residents recounted what allegedly happened at the bloody scene just before midnight.
‘I heard a lot of fighting and screaming, and about an hour later my daughter came in saying someone had been stabbed,’ Shane Muhling told 7NEWS.
‘There was a lot of loud banging, so I’m guessing there was a bit of a punch up as well,’ Chloe Muhling added.
‘I could hear the son yelling out ‘my dad’s dying in my arms,’ Mr Muhling added.
Inspector McQueen said the man in custody was in a relationship with the victim’s 30-year-old daughter.
‘There was a relationship there between the male that’s in custody assisting us and the deceased’s daughter,’ he said.

‘It appears to be some sort of domestic dispute which unfortunately has escalated to a point where significant violence has occurred.
‘Homicides are tragic at anytime, but at Christmas time the emotion around Christmas and the event people were there to celebrate and the Christmas period, has unfolded in a tragic way.’
The 33-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with one count each of murder, assault occasioning bodily harm and wilful damage.
He was denied bail and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on December 28.
